Tuna Cakes

Tuna cakes are a simple weeknight recipe.  They're incredibly nutritious and a great source of protein, omega-3 fatty acids and B vitamins, and one of the best dietary sources of vitamin D. Tuna is a lean meat, relatively high in protein and low in calorie which keeps you feeling full longer. Tuna fish is one of the most popular varieties of seafood in the world.

Servings: 6

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 10 minutes

 

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons butter or ghee

3 cans of tuna

2 eggs

1 tsp grainy mustard

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon pepper

½ teaspoon garlic

½ teaspoon onion powder

2 teaspoon dried chives

½ teaspoon Old Bay (optional)

 

 

Instructions: 

  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil and grease with butter or ghee.
  3. In large bowl whisk the eggs and add the rest of the ingredients and stir to combine.
  4. Open and drain the 3 cans of tuna. Drain well before adding to the bowl.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Divide into 6 patties and place on baking sheet.
  7. Into the oven for 10 minutes.
  8. Turn (flip) halfway through baking.
  9. Serve with your favorite vegetable and enjoy!
